Hon. Prof. Dr. Katharina Kiss is a specialist consultant in internal medicine and cardiology. She graduated from the Medical University Vienna, Austria, in 1996 and completed her specialty training at the Vienna General Hospital in the departments of Emergency Medicine and Cardiology in addition to the 4th Medical Department at the Hietzing Hospital, Vienna, Austria, in 2003. During a sabbatical in 2002, Dr. Kiss completed specialist training in Cardiac MRI at the Royal Brompton Hospital in London, the most renowned Cardiopulmonary hospital in the UK.
Since 2004, Dr. Kiss has been active in research in interventional cardiology, primarily focusing on the development of minimally invasive heart valves. In 2004, Dr. Kiss co-founded P&F Products & Features GmbH, which researches, develops, and manufactures percutaneous heart valves and drug-eluting stents.
Dr. Kiss continues her consulting work with patients as an independent specialist in a multidisciplinary private practice encompassing the disciplines of internal medicine, cardiology, and angiology.
In recognition of her work as a cardiologist with patients from Eastern Europe, the Russian Federation and Central Asian Countries, Dr. Kiss received the title of Honourable Professor of Medicine from the University of Astana, Kazakhstan.
